Wall-Mounted TV Brackets: Guide to the Best Models and Tips for Choosing the Right One

WEIGHT AND SCREEN SIZE

To choose the most suitable TV wall mount, the first step is to gather some technical information about your television. The two key factors are the weight of the TV and the screen size in inches.

These are essential parameters to ensure that the bracket can properly support the television and provide a stable and secure installation, preventing sagging or unwanted movement.

Vivanco offers a wide range of mounts compatible with different screen size ranges and weight capacities, making it quick and easy to find the right model for your TV.

VESA: WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

While weight and screen size are fairly intuitive specifications, the VESA standard may seem less straightforward. In reality, it is one of the most important factors when choosing the right TV wall mount for your home.

VESA refers to the distance between the mounting holes on the back of the television (usually 4), which must perfectly match those on the bracket.

The VESA measurement is expressed with two values (for example 400×400):

  • the first number indicates the horizontal distance,
  • the second indicates the vertical distance.

To determine it, simply measure the distance between the holes along the horizontal axis and then along the vertical axis. With this information, you can select a compatible bracket and achieve a precise, hassle-free installation. Vivanco covers a wide range of VESA sizes, making it easy to find the perfect fit for your TV.

TILTING, SWIVEL OR FIXED TV WALL MOUNT?

Once you’ve checked the technical specifications of your Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips, Panasonic or any other brand of TV, you can choose the type of mount best suited to the room and to the way you watch TV. Vivanco offers several solutions: fixed, tilting, swivel (full-motion) and double mounts.

  • Swivel (full-motion) TV mount: Equipped with an arm, it lets you move the TV sideways (left/right) and adjust its position to suit your needs.
  • Tilting mount: Ideal for tilting the TV vertically to achieve a better viewing angle, especially if it’s installed higher up.
  • Fixed mount: The most essential and slim option, perfect for securing the TV to the wall with a stable “picture-frame” effect.

SINGLE ARM OR DOUBLE ARM – WHICH IS BETTER?

Swivel TV wall mounts can feature a single arm or a double arm, and the difference directly affects the range of movement.

  • Single arm: mainly allows sideways adjustment (left to right and vice versa).
  • Double arm: offers more complete adjustment, with wider movement, tilt, and also depth control thanks to its extendable structure.

The arm can extend and retract, providing greater flexibility in positioning the TV and ensuring maximum viewing comfort.
